Spirit helped me find some terrific information on the internet about healing diabetic wounds. I did not print the whole article since the printer refused to obey me.

The article read: “UC Riverside Research Team Discovers that Insulin Heals Wounds. Manuela Martins-Green ……recently found that applying insulin directly to skin wounds significantly enhanced the healing process.”

I made this a matter of prayer and took it on myself to begin this treatment also. If the reader pulls up the research, you will see that Manuela Martins-Green got emails about how much to use. I was not on that list asking her for details.

My brother James has the Spirit of the Lord and he put 10 units onto the wick before he put on the Iotosorb ointment. First he did the consecrated oil plus tea tree oil. It seemed like the article said to put the insulin on the gauze pad.

When I read what the insulin did, I could not wait to get it where the problem was – in Vesuvius. So we used the wick. My brother never read the internet article to know about the pad part.

We were really flying blind as far as medical research, we had to use the spirit promptings. I did not even tell the wound clinic what I was doing. The reason was, I do not think there were a ton of studies and FDA approval on this process. I did not want to be told to wait until it had FDA approval.

Spirit told me this would be OK and Spirit was right and that is all I care.

Finally I told my favorite nurse what I had been doing and she found the research on the internet. Again I am not sure that any health care professional can tell you to do this. Without the FDA approval it might seem risky to them. My doctor told me point blank, the logic is there, insulin heals, etc. Spirit told me all that anyway – not the medical terms. Just that it would work.

I used magnets. I put a magnet that I got from the True Value Hardware store. I laid it down on the bed and rested my stocking foot against it. The magnet helped to draw the healing blood down to the wound. The insulin was rebuilding cells. “… micro vascular cells and blood vessels” were being grown with the insulin on the wick. I used the magnet to get those healing nutrients down to Vesuvius.

The magnet was a goodly sized one. I think it would pick up a pound or so. I know it did the job of bringing the blood to the new tissue and nerves and helped heal the wound. By the first week of September, James could not get the wick into Vesuvius because the hole was too small. So then the insulin and Iodosorb went onto the pad.

Another reason I kept my mouth shut was that I asked if I could put aloe vera leaf over the hole and I was told ‘NO’. My nurses told me that they wanted the hole to heal from the bones to the sole of my foot.

So I taped the aloe vera leaf on top of my foot, and sure enough we were doing a healing of the opening before the depth. So aloe vera leaf stayed off for a month.

This was another reason I wanted insulin in the hole on the wick and not on the top edge, I figured we would have healing on the wrong edge … I needed it inside first.

The middle of September the wound clinic measured the nearly closed hole. They tapped on the small opening and it held solid. There was new tissue and a scab just a wee bit from the sole of my foot.

The nurse who loves to double check these things, whittled one last time, to remove the stain of the iodine ointment or Iodosorb ointment. Yep, there was solid foot under that brownish stain and I was told that their job was done, and I no longer had Vesuvius in my foot.

So I owe a great bebt to a priesthood blessing, the emergency room, the diabetic clinic team, the wound clinic team and mostly to my brother. Additionally I owe a debt to my mentor down under and her ebooks and lessons.

I owe a debt to the Anothecary team, and to the research team at the University of California Riverside.

Mostly I owe a debt to my spirit guides who led me to the insulin research. Using all my fingers and toes, I cannot count the number of angels/ messengers from heaven who helped me get rid of Vesuvius in my foot. Praise the Lord.

I hope this information will bless the lives of hundreds of diabetics. I would ppreciate your prayers to help me get the two thousand nine hundred dollars needed to pay the medical bills for doctors, hospitals and prescriptions. It’s fair that their bills be paid – the wonderful healers in the medical profession here in Salt Lake county.

My brother kept dressing Vesuvius every other day and when I was fired I told every one I could not come back to the clinics. My brother would finish it up.

A hue and cry like you never heard was what I heard next!

Wound clinic nurses put their foot(s) down and said I should come back every 2 weeks until this was healed! They gave me no room to argue.

My brother was doing an excellent job of wound care and several nurses even praised him. The wording was something like “I have never seen a home dressed diabetic ulcer look this good!” Of course, I said, James is a retired naturepath.

There were a couple processes I failed to tell anyone about. Due to Native American Cherokee beliefs, I have a love for Mother Earth. I know my body has a vibration when sick or well and there are herbs with a vibration, and rocks of the earth have vibrations.

My mentor in Australia, Colleen, sent me many emails and gave me tips about what crystals are used for what healing.

I wore watermelon tourmaline around my ankle of my Vesuvius foot. The little watermelon piece was about the size or my blouse button and looked so darned cute – a tiny piece of crystal looking like watermelon. This was for nerve repair.

I also wore a strand of tourmaline as an ankle bracelet. I have a large walnut sized tourmaline I wear around my neck to work on cleaning up the brain tumor along with the reishi mushroom I am taking.

Colleen told me that I should add citrine stones since they clean up negativity and would clean out the morbidity from Vesuvius. She was so right so as usual.

After cleaning out the guck from Vesuvius, I got some more citrine from a Native American site I love. I stringed that with tourmaline and a sweet butterfly of my favorite colors. When I put that necklace around my neck, the whiplash pain from 3 past wrecks, diminished to maybe 25%. Those healing crystals are a gift from the Lord to Diana.

I want to add Colleen’s web site for anyone who would like to take a look at these crystals. You can sign up for her crystal education emails and learn tons of great stuff. Like this last one was about healing my chakra in my head – one that has been a little battered by the brain tumor. I love this lady from ‘down under’. If there were more like her on this earth, what a more wonderful place it would become!

I want to add a couple more things about her site, so will do it in the next blog.

At Cottonwood Hospital, I found the most wonderful health care professionals I ever found in 50 years. Emergency room and diabetic clinic and the Apothecary staff are all heaven sent angels of healing.

The ladies in the diabetic clinic are prompt with their appointments which is rare in medical offices. The lady in charge of my issue is so smart, and all I had to do is hand her my blood sugar testing unit – she knew 25 things that were right and wrong.

The wrong part was – the numbers were over 300-375 when they should have been 105. Dr. Rhoades told me I had to keep the numbers under 170 or less to heal Vesuvius. The ladies at the Diabetic clinic accented this statement boldly.

If I wanted to heal, get the diabetes in control.

Three awesome nurses helped me in this phase. The first one told me what I was doing so poorly, and asked me if I had ever been instructed on diet etc? I told her No!

She immediately arranged for a nurse to teach me correct diet, give me books of the steps to keep the blood sugar under control, and was just so kind and wise, I was so glad the wound clinic referred me there.

She had me email or call the numbers into her every Thursday to make sure the insulin amounts were doing the job.

These nurses did so well, the last time my blood sugar was taken, the number was 128.

The third lady gave me books on what carbs were found in many foods including fast foods. Sometimes we like to go for a hamburger and french fries and my books tell me the carbs in many foods. I was really tickled to see I could have a McDonald’s sausage McGriddle for breakfast.

She gave me a month’s menus. She told me neat stuff – like a snack I like is popcorn. She said sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on the hot popcorn and I have a dandy snack.

I truly praise and appreciate these wonderful women helping diabetics in this Salt Lake valley.

I go back every 90 days for the tons of blood tests for diabetic wellness. I could not have been writing about my wonderful healing if those women, along with all other helpers, had not been there.

The first person to see Vesuvius was my brother James. I could not see a thing but the stink was ghastly. He told me to get to the medical doctor right away. I did not see this sore as an issue, and I went home to use the gangrene herbs, and the tea tree oil soaks etc. I had no knowledge of the seriousness of a diabetic ulcer.

Since that first Saturday, I have heard maybe 50 horror stories of toes cut off, feet cut off, legs amputated, and deaths when the infection got up to the spine. But that first day I was a green horn about all this.

My brother gave me a Melchzedek Priesthood blessing with consecrated olive oil, and aso dressed the wound with the tea tree oil and consecrated oil. Next day I asked my son Ben to take a picture with my Sprint phone.

He told me he would tie my hands and drag me to the emergency room if I did not go. His friend was also there, and he is a diabetic who knew the seriousness of these diabetic ulcers.

So to the emergency room I went.

After the wound clinic gave me rolled gauze, the papain tube of ointment, tape, all the needed supplies for home care, I took them to James. One time my son tried to help with it, and he backed off and said it made him sick to look at it.

Another time a friend from work tried to help, and he backed off also. That time I ended up putting hydrogen peroxide gel on my own finger and asked my co worker to position my finger over my Vesuvius so I c0uld poke it into the hole, and put on a pad and some tape till I could get home.

My co worker had the same horror at the sight of the hole in my foot.

My brother used some numbing gel he had used prior to retirement a few years earlier. Before he did the cleansing without the gel, and when he put in the tea tree oil without mixing with the consecrated olive oil, I wanted to crash thru his trailer wall.

He said he used the stick with the cotton tip, to put the tea tree oil into the hole. My bare nerve endings said “Not in this hole you wont!” and I hollered and prayed. He calls the tea tree oil Melalucca, but I had been using this Australian oil for 15 years as tea tree oil. It is so great for stinky feet, for ear infection and so forth. It is a great antibiotic.

Sailors were treated with tea tree oil since about 1500 AD and the research and success stories are legion.

The nurses at the wound clinic remarked that these wounds usually smell awful. I told them I was doing colloidal silver soaks at home and putting tea tree oil on the dressing I used before going to the emergency room.

But I knew the nurses were right. My brother told me the first Saturday, the stink was bad enough to gag a maggot.

So the routine was to use the numbing gel, and then take the wick that had been saturated with Accuzyme ointment and use the wooden round stick with cotton on 1 end. The stick flat end was used to poke the wick into Vesuvius.

Next a square non sticking pad and then a gauze wrap and some breathing tape to hold all of it in place. When I first went to James I had duct tape on my foot and he said ‘No, that tape cannot breathe.’ Medical tape appears to be lots better.

The nurse at the wound clinic (my favorite one there) told me NOT to ever put hydrogen peroxide gel in an open wound. It kills good tissue as well as the bad. So I killed the little healing I had done by using that gel. I learned my lesson!

My brother confirmed this information with some stories he had seen using the peroxide in a gash.

I had been taking the prescriptions for about 12 days by the time I got to the wound clinic. My daughter Laura drove me over because of the awful high pain I felt when emergency room etc. tried to clean out the putrid white stuff in the bottom of Vesuvius..

I cried for 15 minutes afterwards and had to throw up, my stomach really took it on the chin. In my mind, this pain was about as bad as childbirth in the last couple hours of labor before water broke etc. It hurt like crazy!

Only thing was, after the poking stopped, the pain got better in 15 minutes or so.

There are half a dozen RN, LPN etc nurses at the wound clinic. Also students from the University 0f Utah would be there for a few months as an OJT experience with real time wound care.

These nurses aides would take the vitals, get out the needed supplies, remove the bandage and take out the wick. This wick process started from the very beginning with Dr. Rhoades. Also he used the Iodosorb or iodine ointment on the wick.

The first photo taken in the wound clinic was dated June 18, 2007.

I told the nurses that Dr Argyle said I would not make it to my 65th birthday had I not gone in for the emergency room care.

I teased the nurses at wound clinic, I was 65 because of their great care and treatment. That first month was an extremely painful time for me. Unless they used the numbing gel, I could not stand to let them touch the inside of Vesuvius.

Every other visit, they took a little round scalpel and trimmed the callous off from ar0und the hole. They did not think I had any feeling in there- but I did. While Vesuvius ate away flesh and nerves, the bared nerve endings still sent hellish pain up my right leg, across the groin area and down in to the left leg.

I would tell them I was having ‘sympathetic nerve pain’ and I know this is true. I just do not know the medical name for it. Just like I knew that poking made me want to throw up. I had to make sure I ate something before treatment.

One time it took an hour and I had eaten was too small a snack. I still ended up loosing ??? dry heaves ?? on the lawn as I left the hospital.

I went to the wound clinic twice a week for a few weeks, until I was fired off my job. I was told that I was a liability with that hole and the surgical shoe. If the toilet over flowed in the bathroom, an open toe shoe would take the fecal matter thru the shoe and sock, and soak the bandage, and could give a really bad infectin.

This was not the excuse on paper. I was incompetent on paper. So much hydracodone was making me have brain issues. A cranial tumor did not make matters any better! Neither did a colonic tumor!

Loosing insurance meant no help with the cancers or the diabetic ulcer. Now the medical bills are so awfully high that I am panicy where money will come to pay them.

Next part is the home care which my brother James gave every 2 days when I was not in the wound clinic.

I was sent to a foot specialist. He and his personable nurse were so kind to explain that 5 or 6 people come to him every day with these horrible volcanos in their feet. He was positive with me and they joked and made me laugh.

He took a photo and also he took Xrays. He was very pleased to tell me there was no staph infection in toes or feet bones. I had gotten to the emergency room on time.

I went to a specialist in the IHC network here in Salt Lake County so everyone could access the emergency room records.

Dr. Rhoades asked me if I “Smiled for the X-ray machine?” which made me laugh a 2nd time. His nurse asked me first, so they helped a lot of the stress become lower and my worry level went down also.

In the emergency room, my blood pressure was almost 150 for the top number. This is 30 points higher than my normal top number.

Dr. Rhoades helped me come down about 10 points but it stayed at about 140 for a couple months.

The true healing began because I read the article from the University of California, and this is when the numbers started to drop.

Dr Rhoades gave me a surgical shoe with a soft inner layer that had foam or something. Having this softness meant I did not feel a pounding on Vesuvius, so the shoe made walking possible.

The people in Dr. Rhoades office are all angels of mercy and medicine. I am so thankful Dr. Argyle referred me there. This is still around June 20, 2007.

Dr. Rhoades added medicine called Augmentin tablets. I do not remember any strengths or how many in the bottle. I only wrote down the names. I’m sure any good foot specialist would know this information.

Next came the wound clinic.

The Dr. at the emergency room referred me to the wound clinic. They started me on a routine of bandage changes every other day.

I had not seen a doctor or gotten any insulin nor taken a shot in 10 months. No money was the dagger that made me battle the cancer with herbs, and try to fight diabetes issues in the same way. I had won battles with cancers in 1972, and 1994 and then in 2006. That was old hat for me. I was fired from my job with this hole in my foot and the pain resulting from it.

I was using the herbal approach with Vesuvius in My Foot- gangrene pack, colloidal silver soaks, tea tree oil for antibiotic care. Dr Argyle at the emergency room convinced me more treatment was critical!

At first a wick was put in that darned volcano, which was soaked in ointment called ACCUZYME, this is Papain, Urea. The ACCUZYME was used almost a month. It was designed to gobble up that rotten white stuff in the bottom of the volcano I think, because that is what happened.

When I told them I could not come back due to loss of income they were adamant I get there at least 2 times a month. They switched to IODOSORB ointment. So the wick was soaked in this iodine ointment, and poked into the volcano. Next a square pad covered the wick, and then gauze was wrapped around my foot and taped. This happened every 2 weeks at the wound clinic. 95% of the wound care happened at my brother’s place.

Jim is a retired naturepath.

. I could not see the 2 pictures in my little cell phone screen, I just knew that hole smelled like a dead thing crawled in there and the fires of hell shot up my right leg when I put weight on the area. I started using the Dr. Christopher gangrene herb in a poultice, since I did not know what I was dealing with. That herb is marshmallow root. I made a paste with the chopped herb and tea tree oil mixed with virgin olive oil that had been blessed by the Priesthood my sweetheart bears. I wrapped the toe area and taped with white medical tape. This was Saturday.

About the whole emergency room crew had to see this awful hole that I could not see. When I got the cell phone photo onto a computer screen, I saw Vesuvius in my Foot.

The first 2 pictures were taken that first Saturday. The white in the bottom is the awful stinky infection and the medical specialists called it something.

I am going to insert here, the information from the emergency room. I went in there Sunday afternoon.,

“Decubitus Ulcer: A decubitus ulcer develops when there is pressure on the skin. It’s a common problem in patients who can’t move easily. The healing time depends on the size and depth of the ulcer, and whether further damage can be avoided……

To help the ulcer heal, pay close attention to general health. Diabetics should keep the blood sugar as normal as possible. Edema can be reduced with medication. Low blood oxygen can be improved with medication to improve breathing or an oxygen tank at home.

Infection can spread from the ulcer…etc

Antibiotics: You have been given antibiotic by vein. This is done for more serious infections. The IV antibiotics are followed by pills…”

I was given this IV for 2 days. The total antibiotics were:
The #1 medicine was Ivanz drip. Also pills called Bactrim or Bactrum were prescribed. Another pill was Septra DX Generic, and Cephalexin Keflex generic. I think the foot specialist added Augmenten tablets.

At home I was doing the tea tree oil mixed with the consecrated oil every time the dressing was changed.

I went to the foot specialist next and then to the LDS Hosoital wound clinic.

Dr. Rhodes took Xrays, took photos and gave me a surgical shoe that made walking possible. Nicer medical people do not exist, I don’t think. Awesome knowledgable people greeted me in all of the offices I went to.
