Brother is a retired naturepath

The first person to see Vesuvius was my brother James. I could not see a thing but the stink was ghastly. He told me to get to the medical doctor right away. I did not see this sore as an issue, and I went home to use the gangrene herbs, and the tea tree oil soaks etc. I had no knowledge of the seriousness of a diabetic ulcer.

Since that first Saturday, I have heard maybe 50 horror stories of toes cut off, feet cut off, legs amputated, and deaths when the infection got up to the spine. But that first day I was a green horn about all this.

My brother gave me a Melchzedek Priesthood blessing with consecrated olive oil, and aso dressed the wound with the tea tree oil and consecrated oil.  Next day I asked my son Ben to take a picture with my Sprint phone.

He told me he would tie my hands and  drag me to the emergency room if I did not go. His friend was also there, and he is a diabetic who knew the seriousness of these diabetic ulcers.

So to the emergency room I went.

After the wound clinic gave  me rolled gauze, the papain tube of ointment, tape, all the needed supplies for home care, I took them to James. One time my son tried to help with it, and he backed off and said it made him sick to look at it.

Another time  a friend from work tried to help, and he backed off also.  That time I ended up putting hydrogen peroxide gel on my own finger and asked my co worker to position my finger over my Vesuvius so I c0uld poke it into the hole, and put on a pad and some tape till I could get home.

My co worker had the same horror at the sight of the hole in my foot.

My brother used some numbing gel he had used prior to retirement a few years earlier. Before he did the cleansing without the gel, and when he put in the tea tree oil without mixing with the consecrated olive oil, I wanted to crash thru his trailer wall.

He said he used the stick with the cotton tip, to put the tea tree oil into the hole. My bare nerve endings said “Not in this hole you wont!” and I hollered and prayed.  He calls the tea tree oil Melalucca, but I had been using this Australian oil for 15 years as tea tree oil. It is so great for stinky feet, for ear infection and so forth. It is a great antibiotic.

Sailors were treated with tea tree oil since about 1500 AD and the research and success stories are legion.

The nurses at the wound clinic remarked that these wounds usually smell awful. I told them I was doing colloidal silver soaks at home and putting tea tree oil on the dressing I used before going to the emergency room.

But I knew the nurses were right. My brother told me the first Saturday, the stink was bad enough to gag a maggot.

So the routine was to use the numbing gel, and then take the wick that had been saturated with Accuzyme ointment and use the wooden round stick with cotton on 1 end. The stick flat end was used to poke the wick into Vesuvius.

Next a square non sticking pad and then a gauze wrap and some breathing tape to hold all of it in place. When I first went to James I had duct tape on my foot and he said ‘No, that tape cannot breathe.’  Medical tape appears  to be lots better.

The nurse at the wound clinic (my favorite one there) told me NOT to ever put hydrogen peroxide gel in an open wound. It kills good tissue as well as the bad. So I killed the little healing I had done by using that gel. I learned my lesson!

My brother confirmed this information with some stories he had seen using the peroxide in a gash.
